Accuracy notice: The UK padel scene is expanding rapidly — new venues open and existing ones change their pricing, hours, and court availability regularly. We update this guide as often as possible, but some details may be out of date. Always verify directly with the venue before travelling. Spot something incorrect? Let us know.
Bristol is the South West's undisputed padel capital — and it isn't close. When Rocket Padel chose the city for its first non-London club, it validated what local players already knew: Bristol punches well above its weight in the UK padel scene. Across the city you'll find more than 25 courts across multiple venues, with a range of price points from pay-and-play outdoor to premium indoor flagship. The wider South West — Exeter, Plymouth, Devon and Somerset — is now rapidly building its own court map for the first time.
The UK padel market has grown 2,567% since 2019, reaching 860,000 players and 1,553 courts across 559 venues by end-2025. Bristol sits consistently in the top tier of Playtomic booking cities outside London. This guide covers every significant venue in the region.

Bristol Venues
Rocket Padel Bristol — The UK's Largest Padel Club
St. Annes Road, St. Annes Park, Bristol BS4 4EB
Tel: 0117 287 0289 | Email: bristol@rocketpadel.com | Book: Playtomic
This is the headline act. Rocket Padel Bristol opened as the largest padel club in the UK — 14 courts under one roof, comprising 12 panoramic doubles courts and 2 singles courts, all indoor with a +10m ceiling height. The choice to make Bristol the network's first non-London club was a deliberate statement about the city's padel credentials, and the result is a venue that rivals anything you'd find in the capital.
The facility goes well beyond courts: a bistro/bar with Sky Sports TV, a well-stocked pro shop, spectator areas for all 14 courts, accessible changing rooms, a conference room, and free parking. On-court coaching is led by GB team player Sandy Farquharson and an LTA-qualified team. Memberships start from £10/month (Yellow, 10% off bookings) or £50/month (Pink, 14-day advance booking window). Court hire runs approximately £35–£70 per hour depending on time slot. This is a serious club for serious players — but it actively welcomes beginners too.
Best for: Anyone who wants the best facility in the South West, period. Worth travelling from Bath, Swindon, or further.
The Padel Team Bristol
1 Barrow Road, Bristol BS5 0HU | Book: Playtomic
Seven indoor courts in Easton, bookable via Playtomic from £15–£36 per hour. The Padel Team has built a strong community following in Bristol, particularly among weekday players and those looking for competitive social sessions. Opening hours are generous — courts run from 07:00 through to midnight most days. A solid mid-market option between the premium Rocket Padel experience and the community model at Lockleaze.
Best for: Regular players wanting good court availability and competitive pricing.
Padel4all Lockleaze — Bristol's Original
Bonnington Walk, Lockleaze, Bristol BS7 9XF
Tel: +44 117 405 1530 | Book: Padel4all app
Bristol's first padel centre, and still one of its most welcoming. Padel4all Lockleaze offers four covered and floodlit courts on Mondo turf with LED lighting and court cameras, open 08:00–22:00 Monday–Friday and until 20:00 at weekends. The community-first model is baked in: there's a full programme of group sessions covering all ages and abilities, beginner courses, adult leagues, and junior coaching. Facilities include free parking, racket hire, WiFi, and a café/social area. Full disabled access via PadelAssist. Rated 4.7/5 across 78+ reviews.
Reviewers consistently praise the staff and court quality, though some note pricing at the higher end for the postcode. That said, the covered courts and all-weather guarantee make it a dependable choice year-round.
Best for: Beginners, families, and anyone wanting structured coaching and a genuine community feel.
David Lloyd Bristol (Westbury & Emersons Green)
David Lloyd Westbury: Greystoke Ave, Westbury on Trym, Bristol BS10 6AZ
David Lloyd Emersons Green: Emersons Green, Bristol
Both David Lloyd Bristol clubs include padel courts as part of their Platinum membership package. Westbury has 2 outdoor courts; Emersons Green has 2 outdoor courts (1 covered). Courts are bookable exclusively via the David Lloyd app. If you already hold a DL membership, these are convenient and high-quality options — the clubs offer coaching, the full gym and pool facilities, and the usual DL service levels. Non-members cannot book. Court fees are included in Platinum membership rather than charged separately.
Best for: Existing David Lloyd members in north and east Bristol.
South West Beyond Bristol
City Padel Exeter — Devon's Flagship
Units A/B, Hill Barton Business Park, Mushroom Road, Clyst St Mary, Exeter EX5 1SB
Tel: 01392 305507 | Book: Playtomic
The South West's standout venue outside Bristol. Six indoor panoramic courts in a purpose-built facility near Exeter, open 07:00–23:00 daily. Alongside the courts you'll find a first-floor viewing mezzanine, fully stocked bar, on-site physiotherapy from Injury Armour, a pro shop stocking BullPadel and Head, and changing rooms. Pricing starts from around £25/hour and reaches £60/hour at peak times. Membership offers 15% off court bookings. City Padel Exeter is also planning a second club in Taunton — a sign that the Somerset market is finally coming online.
Best for: Devon players and anyone visiting Exeter who wants a genuine premium experience.
Padel United Plymouth
Marjon University, Plymouth PL6 8BH | Book: Playtomic
Four outdoor courts at Marjon University — three doubles and one singles court, the latter billed as the first pay-and-play singles court in the UK. No membership required. Pricing is exceptionally accessible at £3.75pp/hour peak and £3pp/hour off-peak, making Plymouth one of the cheapest places to play padel in England. Racket hire is £2 per racket from the sports centre reception. Three hours of free parking on site.
Best for: Budget-conscious players, beginners, and anyone wanting a casual game without a booking faff.
Woodbury Park, Devon
Woodbury Castle, Woodbury, Devon EX5 1JJ | Book: Playtomic
Two outdoor courts at this established golf and leisure resort near Exeter. Courts are bookable at £28/hour, available 07:00–21:00 daily. Facilities include a restaurant, changing rooms, free parking, and lockers. A civilised option for a game before or after a round of golf, or for visitors staying at the resort.
Best for: Visitors to Devon who want a scenic, resort-style game.
The Bath Situation
Bath currently has no operational padel courts — a remarkable gap given the city's size and demographic. Planning disputes have repeatedly blocked proposals: Bath and North East Somerset Council has rejected or forced the withdrawal of padel court applications on noise grounds multiple times, most recently at Odd Down Sports Ground. A revised plan for three courts at Odd Down went to public consultation in mid-2025 and may yet progress. Until then, Bath players make the 12-mile trip to Bristol. This is worth knowing if you're visiting Bath — plan ahead.
Booking Tips for the South West
- Book early for Bristol peak slots. Rocket Padel's evenings (18:00–21:00) and weekend mornings fill fast on Playtomic, often 4–7 days out. A Yellow (£10/month) membership gives 10% off; Pink (£50/month) unlocks 14-day advance booking.
- Padel4all uses its own booking system, not Playtomic. Download the Padel4all app or book via their website directly.
- David Lloyd courts are members-only — no walk-in or guest booking available. Don't drive to either DL Bristol site without a membership.
- Plymouth is exceptional value but courts are outdoor and unroofed. Check the weather.
- City Padel Exeter is 2 miles outside the city centre at Clyst St Mary — allow extra time if travelling from central Exeter by public transport.
Coming Soon
The South West padel map is growing fast. City Padel has announced a Taunton club targeting December 2025, which would give Somerset its first dedicated padel facility. Bath remains the region's most prominent gap — planning permitting, Odd Down Sports Ground could bring courts to the city within 2026. The South West Padel League, covering Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, and Bristol, launched in 2025 with Playtomic-based fixtures — a good sign that the region's player base is maturing rapidly.
