Accuracy notice: The UK padel scene is expanding rapidly — new venues open and existing ones change their pricing, hours, and court availability regularly. We update this guide as often as possible, but some details may be out of date. Always verify directly with the venue before travelling. Spot something incorrect? Let us know.
Leeds ranks in the UK's top 5 padel cities by Playtomic bookings — a remarkable fact for a city that had virtually no padel infrastructure five years ago. Yorkshire as a whole is a different story: the county's padel map is still thin compared to London and Manchester, and players have routinely made the trip west to get court time. That's about to change fast. A wave of new venues is arriving, anchored by what could be the most significant padel development in the North outside Manchester. Here's everything you need to know.

Other Leeds-Area Venues
Beyond the headline clubs, the wider Leeds area has further options. Chapel Allerton Lawn Tennis & Squash Club offers padel courts in the LS7 postcode. Rawdon Golf, Lawn Tennis & Padel Club (LS19) has outdoor courts, though at a premium price point (£56–£72/hr). Wakefield Sports & Padel Club offers more affordable outdoor play at £20–£28/hr. Wetherby Padel Club (LS22) is the most affordable entry point in the Leeds area, from £16/hr.
Yorkshire Beyond Leeds
Sheffield: The Steel City Steps Up
Sheffield has quietly become one of the North's best padel cities in just two years.
Play Padel Sheffield (Abbeydale Road South, S17) opened in March 2025 and quickly became one of the busiest padel venues in the North. Four indoor courts including an innovative singles court, at £20–£30/hr. Book via Playtomic. The Play Padel Group — backed in part by former England cricket captain Joe Root — is already planning a second Sheffield site at Meadowhall shopping centre, with planning submitted for eight more indoor courts (subject to approval, summer 2026).
Club de Padel Sheffield (Boyland Street, S3) opened September 2025 in a converted Cannon Brewery warehouse in the Neepsend/Kelham Island area — the same operator as the successful Manchester site. Five JUBO super-panoramic courts, a coffee bar, club shop, and changing rooms. £36 off-peak, £44 peak. Book via Playtomic.
Harrogate: Yorkshire's Padel Heartland
Harrogate punches well above its weight on padel. Surge Padel Harrogate at Hornbeam Park (HG2) is the county's most established dedicated padel club: six indoor Adidas courts, adult and junior leagues, an inter-club championship, bar, luxury changing rooms, free parking, and expert coaching. Prices range from £22 to £44/hr. Club wallet packages offer up to 20% off court time. Open Monday–Friday 06:00–22:00, weekends 08:00–20:00. Book via Playtomic.
Harrogate Spa Tennis & Padel Centre (Claro Road) added two covered padel courts to its floodlit facilities. Pay-and-play for non-members alongside a full coaching programme. A solid option if you're already in the town centre.
York: Farm to Court
The Padel Farm York is exactly what it sounds like — two indoor padel courts housed in a converted barn at Fridlington Farms, Sutton-on-the-Forest (YO61). It's York's first dedicated public padel facility, and the rustic charm is genuine. Coffee bar, changing room, free parking, open 07:00–23:00 daily. Prices from £20 to £40/hr. Book via Playtomic. York's padel scene is growing; the Playtomic directory already lists York St John University Padel and Poppleton Lawn Tennis Club as further options nearby.
East Cowick: Rural Yorkshire Gets Courts Too
One of the more intriguing 2026 openings in the region: two brand-new indoor padel courts on a family farm in East Cowick, near Selby. Announced in late 2025, this is a small but significant indicator that padel is pushing beyond urban centres into rural Yorkshire. Details and bookings TBC — watch local Facebook groups and Yorkshire Post for the launch.
Booking Tips for Yorkshire Players
- Use Playtomic for most Leeds and Sheffield courts — the majority of the region's venues use it as their primary booking platform.
- Off-peak means real savings. At Slazenger Leeds, the spread between off-peak and peak pricing can be over £50/hr. Weekday mornings are significantly cheaper across the board.
- Club wallets are worth it at Surge Harrogate and Optimum Padel — the top-up bonuses of 10–20% effectively reduce your hourly rate if you play regularly.
- Check availability on Playskan (playskan.com/leeds) if you want to compare live slots across multiple Leeds clubs in one place.
Coming Soon: The Biggest Padel Story in Yorkshire
No upcoming venue commands more attention than Ollo Padel's Roundhouse conversion. The Roundhouse is a Grade II listed Victorian engine shed, designed by Thomas Grainger and opened in 1847, sitting on a three-acre site near the Armley Gyratory on Wellington Road — a seven-minute walk from Leeds City Centre.
The plans include nine courts in total (five covered, four open), alongside a full hospitality offer, retail, fitness studios, and gyms. The community focus is equally ambitious: free coaching for local schools, inclusive programmes for women and juniors, social leagues, and a pledge to create 14 permanent jobs with local recruitment. Co-founders Will Linley (founder of Linley & Simpson estate agents) and Luke Gidney have positioned Ollo explicitly around the social side of the sport.
The target opening is before the end of 2026. If it delivers on its plans, the Roundhouse will be the most significant single padel development in the North outside Manchester — and it will fundamentally change how Yorkshire players think about where they play.
For context: the UK now has 860,000 padel players, 1,553 courts, and 559 venues (LTA, end 2025). Yorkshire's share of that infrastructure is growing fast. If you've been making the trip to Manchester, you may not need to for much longer.
